Inspiration - Take Aways from the Pasadena Showcase House of Design 2017

Showcase Homes are a Great Source of Inspiration

This week I toured the Pasadena Showcase House of Design 2017.  It is always a pleasure to see these magnificent homes.   From the minute I entered the house I was transported to another time.

The home was built by an attorney in the Tudor style over 100 years ago.  It is set back on the property and the gardens were spectacular.  The craftsmanship of the old architecture combined with the newly designed interiors was stunning.

Each room was well appointed with plenty of luxe details and enough inspiring details to keep my attention.

The bathrooms are always my favorite mainly for the tile.  The powder room under the staircase had antique mirror subway tile that was both alluring and created the illusion of more space.

Other details such as painted canvas murals on the foyer walls and luxe draperies and furnishings made this design house yet another fantastic experience.

Showcase houses are especially good to see the vision of designers at their best.

Rarely do designers get to do all that they envision for a space because they need to incorporate the budget and desires of their clients.  Designer showcase homes are just that...showcases of the breath of creativity they can achieve.

Dunn Edwards paints has always been the only paint supplier to the showcase homes in all of its history.  This year I was especially impressed with the palette and it was included in the catalog.

If you would like to see the paint colors or use them possibly in an upcoming project, go to
